Rehome your cat

We understand that cats can need new homes for all kinds of reasons.

Moving to a new house, new family members, new pets or sudden health needs can all make it difficult to continuing to caring for your cat.

When cats suddenly have nowhere to go, we can make sure they are fed, healthy and loved until they find new homes. We look after the cats in our shelter for as long as it takes to find them the right new home. This means we have a waiting list for cats to come in, and this can vary from a couple of weeks to several months.

Waiting list
If you want to surrender your cat to us, complete the online form below to put your cat on the waiting list. You can change your mind any time up to when the cat has been surrendered. While your cat is on the waitlist, we suggest you try to find a temporary home until we have a place available.

Visit us

If you’re not sure about putting your cat into a shelter environment, please come and visit us. One of our staff can show you around our shelter and answer any questions you have.

All of our cats are checked by a vet in their first week with us, and are desexed and microchipped if they haven’t been already. They’re vaccinated and treated for worms and fleas, and get regular vet checkups.

Please get in touch with us via the form if you would like to be placed on the waiting list to re-home your cat, or call on 04 389 9668.
